From the Ground Up
I started in the backend of a pickup because I didn't have a garage. The industry has evolved. It's become a little bit more technical and there's more ownness to running a successful framing company. Van Dyk is a turn-key framing company in that we provide labor, lumber, steel, stairs and trusses and as much as the builder needs us to do that.
Along the way, what my wife and I sought to do differently was to collect good people as much as we could to surround ourselves with quality. We were very successful at that and we've got a lot of good guys in this company that have been around for a long time and a lot of years of experience there that really show when you get out there on the job site and the company has a good reputation for giving a quality job. We need to lead technology not follow it and we're there.
